Where has the Awakened Educator Blog been?!

Hello Educators. Does anyone else have a countdown to break in full swing? Hopefully, I am not alone on that one…lol. I hope you are hanging in there and continuing to push forward. Life has been tough and continues to be so but…you and I are tougher.

So…it has been a while since I’ve written a post so I wanted to check in and let you know that the blog still lives and to update you on where I have been. Throughout this blog, I have continued to stress the importance of finding a sense of balance for self and prioritizing one’s wellbeing. Although driving to the point of burnout has become the norm for the educator, I am a firm believer that we are not at our best and thus not giving our best when we are forced to operate in this state. As a result, I have continued to come back to the critical element of connecting to self, identifying your most pressing needs, and being open to allowing yourself to be human in your response.

Over the past couple of months, I have had the opportunity to walk the walk and model this expectation for myself. Balancing writing a blog post each week with an increasing load was becoming arduous and rather than stressing to complete a deliverable that I created for myself, possibly with sub-par quality, I decided to step away and take a pause. Although not an easy choice, it was the right one and one that allowed me to breathe a sigh of relief once made.

The big lesson here for me was to be open to reassessing and adjusting my personal asks as life continued to shift. Life will do what it does but my response to it will determine whether I drive myself into overwhelm or if I regroup, adjust, and maintain a sense of balance. This is the life that I have been given. The playbook is mine and the rules are mine, to be adjusted as required. Ceding my power to the winds of change will only set me up for frustration.

So…I will be taking a few more weeks to stay caught up on life and return with a new post on Sunday, January 3rd, 2021. The new year we have all been waiting for😊. Until then, I send you much love, peace, joy, and gratitude. Thank you for continuing to weather the storm and staying in the game. Be kind to yourself, be kind to those you love, spread peace in whatever way you know how and let’s get ready for a transformative 2021!

In Solidarity and Love,

Bloodine
